Where does your authority come from?

Misogyny is a growing trend among adolescent children who becoming sexualized at younger and younger ages. As a father and as a Christian I am feeling the weight of this.

How many people are in hell today who once walked to the front of a church and repeated a prayer? How many went to hell with a false assurance that they were saved when in all reality their assurance was based on their decision to walk to the front and pray?

7 seconds…that is how much time you have to make a first impression. Have you ever thought that your guests are looking at their experience in much the same way they might evaluate a “buying” decision?

After churches have been the target of mass shootings, pastors need to consider whether they will allow guns in their churches, and who they will allow to carry them.

“APEST (Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Shepherd, and Teacher) are the modes of Christ’s presence in the church.”

The opposite of busy in today’s world is sustained, focused attention. It is deep engagement in activities that really matter to us, or in conversations with those we care about.”

Of course there’s nothing wrong with having a positive attitude; it’s always better than the alternative. But I’ve grown a little weary of the abundant and overused sappy or religious platitudes.
